Laurelhurst strip club wins liquor license

The Oregon Liquor Control Commission has approved a liquor license for Mynt Gentlemen’s Club, a strip club at the edge of Portland’s Laurelhurst neighborhood, despite reports that one of the owners had ties to a club that featured live bear wrestling in Ohio.
The commission voted 4-1 last week to grant the license to Fat Jack’s LLC, co-owned by Sherri and Tracy Doss.
Neighbors and Portland police had urged the commission to reject the license, citing a history of fights and other problems at an Old Town night club managed by Tracy Doss.
Neighbors also cited problems at La Fortuna Mexican Bar and Grill, a club at the Mynt’s location at Northeast 33rd Avenue and Sandy Boulevard that closed in 2008 after a homicide in the parking lot. They noted, too, that an alcohol and drug treatment center is nearby the club.
