John E. Brennan, 49, of Portland was charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure after taking off far more than this belt and shoes during the screening process before a Tuesday evening flight to San Jose, Calif. The incident report from the Port of Portland, which operates the airport, said some passengers covered their eyes and the eyes of their children. Others laughed and took photos. The disorderly conduct charge was dropped at Brennans arraignment Wednesday.
Brennan, in an interview at his home, said he did not arrive at the airport with the intention of getting naked. He said the Transportation Security Administration crosses the line between privacy and security. He decided to protest after he was pulled aside after going through the metal detector and a pat down, he said.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Portland drug dealer sentenced to 10 years

by kingofportland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A Portland drug dealer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by a federal judge.
Barry Walker’s conviction stemmed from a June 2011 bust in Old Town when he was found with more than 3 grams of crack.
Prosecutors called Walker, 44, a career offender. He has three felony convictions for dealing drugs and another for compelling prostitution.
His previous state court sentences didn’t deter him from crime and he went back to dealing cocaine less than a year after his most recent release, according to prosecutors.
“This 10-year prison sentence serves to put repeat offenders on notice – if you do not get the message after two convictions for drug-dealing, we welcome you to federal court,” said U. S. Attorney Amanda Marshall.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Portland needs Mayor Jefferson Smith

by kingofportland

Jefferson’s experience bridging his work in the legislature with local government and organizations will also serve the city well. Portland’s mayor will need to work with Salem to solve municipal problems. Working with District Attorneys, advocacy groups like Oregon Center for Christian Voices and Multnomah County Commissioner Diane McKeel, Jeff brought Republicans on board and passed the Human Trafficking Hotline bill unanimously. He was also Chief Sponsor of HB 4146, which created a special process for expunging adjudications for child sex trafficking victims who were charged with prostitution while being trafficked. This bill passed unanimously.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Portland judge sentences leader of child sex trafficking ring to prison

by kingofportland

A federal judge in Portland today sentenced the leader of a child sex trafficking ring to more than nine years in prison.
Zerick Dawson, 30, pleaded guilty last October to a conspiracy by which he sent a girl under the age of 18 into prostitution, court records show
Dawson’s two co-defendants are serving prison terms for their roles in the conspiracy, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Kemp Strickland. One of them provided transportation and arranged hotels, he said, while the other was an adult prostitute who taught girls how to engage in prostitution.
After serving his prison term, Dawson must be supervised by the court for five years.

Portland Escorts: Portland markets its solar-powered public toilet

Portland markets its solar-powered public toilet
Apr 14, 2012
By The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Loo might be the most loved public toilet — not that there’s much competition.
A lack of adequate public restrooms is an old complaint in cities across America. The bathrooms, when you can find one, are often filthy and smelly, and a magnet for drug users and vandals. Businesses such as McDonald’s and Starbucks often serve as the restroom of last resort.
Big cities from New York to San Francisco have bought high-tech, self-cleaning automatic toilets, with mixed results. In one high-profile failure, Seattle installed five such toilets in 2004 — at a cost of $5 million — only to sell them on eBay four years later because of problems with drug use and prostitution.

Meanwhile, the much cheaper Portland Loo maintains a Facebook page and has 202 followers on Twitter. The five downtown toilets average about 200 flushes each per day. And, unlike toilets in other cities, have not drawn a torrent of criticism about foul smells and rampant crime.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Wiretaps, informant, raids help bring down suspected oxycodone ring operating …

by kingofportland

In December 2009, members of a DEA task force caught up with Badamosi in a Denver hotel room, where they seized 589 oxy pills and $7,053 in cash. But Badamosi again fled, and authorities issued a new arrest warrant, records show.
Badamosi later surfaced in the Portland suburbs, renting a four-bedroom house in Milwaukie.
In March 2010, Portland police persuaded a man with a long rap sheet to cooperate in a drug investigation involving Heather O’Rourke, one of Badamosi’s co-conspirators, records show.
That July, the informant told investigators that O’Rourke, now 21, was selling 80 mg oxy and that he had seen bags of pills and $48,000 in cash in her purse, according to a search warrant affidavit. The informant also told police O’Rourke had once been a prostitute and that she introduced him to one of her former clients — a man with a Nigerian accent named Rashaad. Investigators later identified him as Badamosi.

Portland Adult Entertainment: It’s time to educate ourselves about child abuse prevention

by kingofportland

He points out that “child abuse and neglect most often take place at home and routinely at the hands of someone the child trusts and looks to for security, usually the parent. In 2010 Clackamas County DHS staff completed 2,391 field assessments of child abuse reports and confirmed that 698 children were victims of abuse or neglect. Abused children can suffer physical, emotional and behavioral impacts that can last a lifetime, or even generations.”
In February 2009 the Pamplin Media Group published a story about the federal breakup of a forced prostitution ring in Portland, with the youngest of the seven girls rescued being only 12 years old. A Dan Rather report in 2010 names Portland as having the second-highest ranking in terms of rescued child prostitutes.
James Pond, founder of Hillsboro-based Transitions Global (whose motto is “building new lives for survivors of sex trafficking”) has said there are as many as three to five cases of juvenile prostitution in the Portland metropolitan region daily, with many transactions being set up over websites such as Craigslist.

Portland Escorts: Portland Creators and Publishers Drop Big Announcements at Seattle’s Emerald …

by escortingportland

Editing! At one point the show cut from the blue-and-black filter of the frozen North, all the way over to the washed-out palette of the Red Wastes, jerking the viewer way over to the opposite side of the color wheel. There was also scene of Theon sexing up a girl which cut over to more sexy times at Littlefinger’s brothel. Both edits were kind of on-the-nose; it was as if the director jumped out and said “Hey, look at this juxtaposition!” However, I do appreciate how well the show segues from differing parts of the world. Even if the edits do have a bit too much of a “ta-da!” quality to them, the fact remains that a series with zillions of characters, locations, and story threads is sewn together pretty nicely. Here’s hoping they can keep that up as the plots get more convoluted.
