A lawsuit has been filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court over a strip club fight stemming from a pig cook-off held in May 2010 at the Governor Hotel in Portland.

However, to Bechard, local sourcing is a key element in sustainable agriculture, and the pig prepared by the winning chef in the Governor Hotel cookoff was imported from Iowa. That led to a pair of altercations afterward, the first at the Davis Street Tavern and the second, shortly before 2 a.m., at the nearby Magic Gardens strip club.
Bechard, allegedly intoxicated, reportedly elbowed and head-butted Craig Hedstrom, sales manager for Elk Cove Vineyards in Gaston, at the tavern. He reportedly shoved and punched Lowe outside the strip club, located at 217 N.W. Fourth Ave., and police had to be called to break it up.

“It’s funny,” Thomas said of the IFC series that features actor-comedian Fred Armisen and rock musician-actor Carrie Brownstein. “There’s some resentment toward it in Portland. Actually, people love it. They say it’s ‘cheesy. … But that one moment was hilarious.’ It’s easy to make fun of Portland. But they haven’t described the Portland I know. The strip clubs and the dirtiness.”

An infamous two-year-old fight over the provenance of a pig took another turn of its corkscrew tail this week, as one of the participants sued the other in Multnomah County Circuit Court.
Brady Lowe, an organizer of Cochon 555, a nationally touring pig-cooking competition, filed suit Monday against Eric Bechard, accusing the chef at McMinnville’s Thistle of battery and negligence and seeking damages of more than $280,000.
According to the suit, Bechard became intoxicated at the Portland Cochon 555 in May, 2010 and, upset that the winning pig came from Iowa, called out “misrepresentation.” At an after-party attended by food and wine industry folks at Old Town’s Davis Street Tavern, Bechard reportedly headbutted Craig Hedstrom, a sales manager for Elk Cove Vineyards, and was ejected from the bar. Later that night, at the Magic Garden strip club (described in the suit as “a nearby tavern”), Bechard fought with Lowe. Portland police arrested both men.

$201.25 was withdrawn from an ATM at the Tigard Liquor Store. In Southeast Portland, we found 12 withdrawals from the ATM at the Mystic Strip Club for a total of $888.

There is a transaction at a Seattle strip club and another showing the Washington state welfare card used at a strip club in Salem.

A Portland man who took off his clothes to protest airport security measures is insisting on a trial.
In court Wednesday, 49-year-old John Brennan turned down the option of treating the misdemeanor charge of public indecency like a citation, likely resulting in community service and a letter of apology. His lawyer called that “the easy way out.”
Instead, The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/IYmda2), Brennan is likely to be tried next month if the district attorney’s office presses forward.
Brennan was pulled aside April 17 at Portland International Airport after going through the metal detector and a pat-down. He stripped to exercise his right to free speech.
The Oregon Court of Appeals has ruled that naked protests can be protected, but each act has to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

A key figure in a jet-setting band of identity thieves pleaded guilty to bank fraud on Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Michael W. Mosman in Portland.
Gregory Michael Zimmerman, 36, potentially faces a long prison term for his role in a crew suspected of working as “creepers” — identity thieves who steal checks, credit card numbers and identification in burglaries and turn them into cash.
The highly mobile group moved through such glitzy cities as Las Vegas and Beverly Hills, but are suspected of plotting scores at a Portland strip club. They cashed out proceeds at Spirit Mountain Casino, according to government court papers.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A high-tech worker who stripped naked at Portland International Airport as a protest against airport security screeners said Wednesday he was being “nude but not lewd,” and characterized his act of defiance as protected political speech.
John E. Brennan, 49, of Portland was charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure after taking off far more than this belt and shoes during the screening process before a Tuesday evening flight to San Jose, Calif. The incident report from the Port of Portland, which operates the airport, said some passengers covered their eyes and the eyes of their children. Others laughed and took photos. The disorderly conduct charge was dropped at Brennan’s arraignment Wednesday.
Brennan said in an interview that he did not arrive at the airport with the intention of getting naked. He said the Transportation Security Administration crosses the line between privacy and security. He decided to protest after he was pulled aside after going through the metal detector and a pat-down, he said.
