Portland Massage Parlors: In Vancouver, enjoyment is an Olympic event

by portland-massage

In the last two decades Richmond has become Vancouver’s new Chinatown, home to the second-biggest Asian community in North America; Asian Canadians now make up about 60% of Richmond’s population.
Stepping into one of Richmond’s shopping malls is a quick trip to the contemporary Orient. Yaohan Centre has a giant pan-Asian supermarket, and Aberdeen Centre is classic, over-the-top Hong Kong, right down to a showy multimedia water-fountain production in the foyer.
There are Sikh temples, the biggest Buddhist temple in North America, Chinese foot massage parlors and herb shops, but I go to Richmond to eat, especially at the Richmond Night Market, open weekends throughout the summer. You can smell the spicy lamb kebabs and sautéed noodles long before you reach the maze of 300 stalls lighted by strings of lights and hazed in plumes of smoke from grilled squid and prawns.

Portland Adult Entertainment: The Lord and the rings

by kingofportland

Two Sundays ago, this paper brought you a front-page story on how sex workers were a big part of the Olympic Games, with escort services already experiencing a lift in business.
But as astonishing as it may seem, not all the visiting athletes and officials have their minds on their mid-section.
Some are even looking to learn more about life, and some even look to improve their faith in God, as one of the most anticipated moments of their life approaches and passes, sometimes with great elation or disappointment.
That’s where the inter-faith chaplaincy at the athletes villages may come in useful for athletes and officials in both Vancouver and Whistler as their role in the Olympic charter is fulfilled, hopefully for the betterment of everyone who comes into contact with these dedicated people.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Winter Olympics set to begin with a few issues to sort out

by kingofportland

Protests should be limited Friday when more than 60,000 people assemble at BC Place Stadium for the first indoor Opening Ceremony – the culmination of a 106-day Olympic torch relay. No word on whether the red-gloved, cartoon kangaroo in the athletes’ village that drew the ire of the International Olympic Committee will be part of the festivities.
Still, many Canadians are angered over a 17-day Olympics projected to cost $5.6 billion. Vancouver officials forecast roughly $4 billion in benefits from hosting the Olympics – a small fortune, some argue, considering $1.9 billion spent on a light rail line, $825 million on a media center, $748 million on a highway and $580 million on venues.
And part of a $1.75 billion operating budget includes more than $900 million on security, topping the original estimate by about $725 million. That presumably doesn’t count extra money spent policing Vancouver’s salty Downtown Eastside, not a tourist destination for 350,000 visitors, unless they want to hang with homeless, drug addicts and prostitutes.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Itsy bitsy teenie weenie barely holding up bikinis

by kingofportland

Things are not all downhill on the slopes of USA Olympic hopeful Lindsey Vonn, here on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
At least one West Michigander, at this frigid time every year, swears to never again ogle the annual swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated magazine.
The poor soul’s reasoning is that he considers the photographs of the edition’s nearly naked female models in the same way he thinks about many of the pics he ganders in National Geographic:
They’re exotic shots of beautiful places where he’s never going.
Then the issue arrives.
With it departs any semblance of this schnook’s nobler intentions.
They’re thrown right out the figurative window as, his eyes protruding from the friendly confines of their sockets, he entertains thoughts that would cause blushing in a brothel.

Portland Strip Clubs: Going For Gold In The Cold

by exoticinportland

Despite all these issues, the Vancouver games will likely have dozens, perhaps hundreds, of viewers. If you’re among those who are new to the winter games, however, I should explain that these Olympics consist primarily of three types of events: traditional cold-weather sports (hockey, skiing, speed skating), activities that most likely originated as drunken fraternity dares (ski jump, luge, naked ice beer pong) and sports that would more accurately be termed “non-sports” (figure skating, ice dancing, curling). And before crazed fans of figure skating and curling begin firing off a lot of angry emails, let me point out that I won’t read them, so don’t bother.
I mean, come on, figure skating a sport? Not as long as the medal winners are chosen by judges who are easier to pay off than a Tijuana strip club doorman. And curling? Sorry, but I refuse to recognize any Olympic event involving brooms as long as the IOC continues to reject demands to accept Quidditch as a medal sport.

Portland Massage Parlors: Vancouver sex trade expects to boom during Olympics

by portland-massage

VANCOUVER – Olympic fever is taking hold in Metro Vancouver’s sex industry, with businesses and workers preparing to welcome a deluge of visitors.
Vancouver’s most prominent strip club is planning Olympic-themed decorations, but keeping them secret for fear of a clampdown by Olympics authorities. And one Metro Vancouver escort service is hiring dozens of women from across the country for the Games – and is already catering to Olympics-related demand.
In Vancouver, hotel doormen, bell captains and concierges who refer guests to entertainment venues have been warning Brandy Sarionder to expect hordes of clients at her high-end strip club Brandi’s and her massage parlour The Swedish Touch, she says.
“We’ve been told that however busy we think we’re going to be, we’re going to be a thousand times busier than that,” Sarionder says.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Organizers say security ready for Olympics

by kingofportland

… We’re not going to do anything, or we’re not going to deliberately do anything that’s going to aggravate or exacerbate the problem.”
Sweeney added that organizers have taken into account all possible kinds of security threats.
“Your imagination is your only limitation with respect to planning,” he said. “We’ve taken into account all contingencies and we believe we are well prepared to respond to them.”
The military will assist police, covering security by sea and by air, and will have soldiers ready to help for any major threats.
Toews said security will include parts of the United States.
“We’ve been working every closely with the Americans, part of the security area does include parts of the United States.”
The RCMP will also be on the lookout for any organized crime organizations using the Games for profit, such as through counterfeit tickets or prostitution.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Vancouver’s poor – dark side of the Games

by kingofportland

Wendy Pederson, from the Carnegie Community action project, is seen with a group of demonstrators, on January 17, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to symbolically light the flame of the ‘Poverty Olympics’, a parody, in Downtown Eastside, called the poorest zipcode of Canada. The Winter Olympic countdown clock shows the number of days left to the start of the 2010 Games, in downtown Vancouver, on February 8. Canada is spending over two billion dollars on the Winter Olympics but just steps away from the venue for the opening ceremony sits one of the country’s most notorious slums where drug addiction and prostitution are rife.

“I have to be a good judge of character,” said Jennifer Gravelle, who works as a prostitute. “I care about my safety. I just want to eventually get out of this area and get a good house.”

Portland Adult Entertainment: Rat, cockroach, flea join ‘Poverty Olympics’

by kingofportland

VANCOUVER – Demonstrators, as well as mascots of a rat, cockroach and flea, took part in the ‘Poverty Olympics’ on Sunday to protest at the cost of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
“Six billion dollars for three weeks of competition, it’s great for the city but brings nothing to the population as a whole,” Robert Bonner, a North American Cree, and a member of one of the community groups involved in the protest, told AFP.
Five days ahead of the opening of the Winter Games, around 12 anti-Olympic groups staged a mock opening ceremony, introduced their mascots and handed out fake tickets.
The protest was also staged to highlight the plight of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, a neighbourhood widely believed to be Canada’s most deprived district, plagued by drug abuse and prostitution.
