Portland Strip Clubs: Blazers 76, Celtics 96 Re-Thoughts

by exoticinportland

In his pre-thoughts, Coup mentioned that a couple of the big storylines involved Marcus Camby and the Brandon Roy 2010 Hamstring Watch. Camby, struggled. He didn’t have that Theo Ratliff-like instant impact on defense that some may have expected as the Celtics pounded their way in the paint. Not really is fault as the Blazers D was too leaky for him to much of damage anyways. I will take the 3 blocks though. I won’t take the 5 turnovers though…get this man some practice time stat. Roy’s hamstring looked about as good as a grizzled stripper in her 10th year in the business on a Monday afternoon. The good news? He didn’t have a setback! Seriously, his words from Ben’s recap at Blazersedge: “The good thing about it is that I didn’t have a setback tonight”. The bad news? In 34 minutes he managed 9 points on 3-for-8 shooting, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. The worst news? He didn’t look like h …

Portland Adult Entertainment: Scotty Lago pictures: The 24-hour news cycle strikes again

by kingofportland

Scotty Lago pictures of the bronze medal-winning snowboarder have taken the internet by storm, and Lago voluntarily left the 2010 Winter Olympics after apologing to the United States Olympic Committee.
Lago, of course, did perhaps cross the line. The photos of a young woman taking a bite out of Lago’s medal, which was dangling below his belt, are certainly an eye-catcher.
But Lago was simply celebrating the culmination of four years of training and expectation. He didn’t get caught with a prostitute or with drugs or crash into a fire hydrant outside of his house after hooking up with every waitress within a three-mile radius (see Woods, Tiger).
Instead he became the latest victim of the 24-hour news cycle, where nobody in the spotlight can hide. The same circumstances that caught Michael Phelps with a bong at a college party victimized Lago, who had his Vancouver vacation come to an early end.

Portland Strip Clubs: NBA Basketball Betting Free Picks: Rip City Showdown

by exoticinportland

Fact:  Portland, Oregon has more strip clubs per capita than any city in the country.  There was a vegan strip club for awhile and there’s even a strip club featuring heavily tattooed goth/punk/rocker girls.  I recommend that place–Devil’s Point–highly.  Er…I’ve been told it features very artistically inspired dancers by some of the people I minister to in my ’stripper and sex industry worker ministry’.   I’m not sure what that valuable fact has to do with the picture of a Portland Trailblazers’ Dancer that accompanies this post, but thought that as a resident of the Rose City I should share this fascinating piece of trivia.
When we’re not watching strippers and drinking coffee and microbrewed beer, we watch our local basketball team the Portland Trailblazers.  Despite all of the team’s ups and downs this year with season ending injuries to Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla and a slew of other injuries to everyone from Brandon Roy on down, you’ve got to give the Blazers’ cr …

Portland Strip Clubs: I’m calling it: Barbur Boulevard next hip ‘hood

by exoticinportland

There’s also a lot of strip clubs. But isn’t mixing urban grittiness with shiny new studios what Portland does best?

Portland Strip Clubs: Gay Olympians are finding a safe haven at PRIDE House

by exoticinportland

Although societal opinion of gays is changing in many Western countries, homophobia rages in many emerging nations. That is why the oh-so-political Olympic hierarchy is timid and cautious about offending member nations who are not so supportive of gay issues – and reluctant to openly support gay rights.
“There are seeds of change,” former professional snowboarder Ryan Miller told xtra.ca last week. “But there is still that dichotomy where people will come and say they don’t have a problem with [gay athletes] as long as they are not in [their] locker room.”
“I don’t know if it [professional sports] is the last closet,” said Miller, a Pennsylvania native, “but it is one of the last.”
Miller should know. Just a decade ago, at age 24, during one of his first professional snowboard competitions, he abruptly came out after being taunted by straight teammates to go to a strip club.

Portland Massage Parlors: Washington State’s Rink of Dreams

by portland-massage

… It’s nice and warm in here,” Mike Pattison, the family patriarch, told the students. “But this is where Apolo and J. R. learned how to skate.”
The Pattisons traveled to Vancouver to watch the two Olympians they helped produce. They paid $1,200 for four tickets and sat in the front row, the best seats in the house. They watched Ohno win his sixth Winter Olympic medal, the most for an American man, and saw Celski secure his first.
At that moment, the memories flooded back. Like a teenage Ohno break-dancing between skating sessions, performing his patented windmill. Or Celski rolling past adults at age 3, his skates and body nearly equal in size.
“Everything started there,” said Yuki Ohno, Apolo’s father. “That was the beginning.”
Pattison’s West sits on the Pacific Highway near a massage parlor, a storage facility and a chiropractor. The sign out front advertised this week’s adult R&B night.

Portland Adult Entertainment: How Banks Swindle Student Loan Monies

by kingofportland

Unfortunately, these unrepentantly greedy money changers and their lobbyists are now aligned to kill a bill that would revamp the student loan process and allow students to get more money directly from the government. The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act (H.R. 3221) would dwindle billions of dollars of taxpayer subsidies banks and lending institutions have enjoyed at the expense of students.
The bill, introduced by Rep. George Miller, Democrat of California, would raise the Pell Grants to $5,500 this year. It is estimated it would cut the federal deficit by $80 billion to $87 billion in 10 years. The White House points out that this money could go into funding community colleges and Pell Grants.
The bill passed the House of Representatives, on September, 17, 2009, by a vote of 253 to 171. But it must still pass the Senate where it will face stiffer opposition by right-wingers and lecherous bankers. Not surprisingly, lending institutions have deployed their resources to prostitute congressional leaders into killing the bill. The “big government” boogey man is already being used to scare people into believing this will be another disastrous “government takeover.”

Portland Adult Entertainment: Athletes scrape by to fund Olympic dreams

by kingofportland

… Most days in the last 4-5 months, if I show up to work, people are like, ‘What are you doing here? Why aren’t you training? Go away. Go do what you need to do to make sure you’re successful,’” he told Morning Edition earlier this month.
Pete Fenson, who was on the U.S. curling team that won a bronze medal in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games, said most curlers from the U.S. have full-time jobs.
“We’re amateurs so we’re in charge of paying the bills somehow,” said Fenson, who still competes in curling while running a pizza joint in Bemidji, Minn. “You just have to decide how bad you want it, and you do what you have to do to go get it.”
Some Olympic athletes have resorted to extreme forms of fundraising to earn money for travel and training expenses. In one example, a New Zealand taekwondo athlete has opened a brothel to finance his preparation for the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Torch gets Vancouver fired up

by kingofportland

This sentiment reflects a last-minute shift in mood here. Despite continued protests — some 1,500 rallied downtown Friday afternoon — many Vancouverites seem willing to put aside their concerns, at least for the next two weeks.
“The banners have gone up and lots of visitors are arriving,” said David Anderson, a University of British Columbia professor who has monitored public reaction. “There’s the perception that some sort of party is about to ensue.”
As local gossip blogger Lainey Lui put it: “There’s a buzz that’s definitely building.”
This love-hate relationship makes sense in a city where political affiliations divide almost equally between the Liberal and New Democratic parties, adding fuel to a history of public debate.
In other words, people here tend to argue, albeit in a politely Canadian manner.
This time, much discord focused on spending a projected $5.6 billion for a brief spectacle instead of helping the troubled Eastside, where homelessness, addiction and prostitution abound.

Portland Adult Entertainment: Gleason: Vancouver primed for spectacle

by kingofportland

Regardless of who carries Canada’s torch, Vancouver is prepared to showcase itself to the world. This postcard-pretty city of 2.2 million people was gaining momentum Thursday afternoon along the bustling streets downtown and with large murals welcoming some 800,000 athletes, visitors and media.
More than 90 countries will compete in some 330 events between today and Feb. 28. A record 1.6 million tickets have been purchased. It’s a good thing considering some $1.75 billion has been spent getting Vancouver ready, plus another $900 million for security. The final tab could be more than $5 billion.
Canada can spend all the money in the world, but it’s not going to stop people protesting about the Olympics. Many have whined about local and provincial governments spending so much dough on sports when Vancouver is littered with drug- and prostitute-infested neighborhoods and homeless across the city.
