The stepfather wasn’t the only one who posed as the girl. In November A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent posed as the girl and logged a series of sexually explicit conversations with Worley, including attempts to get her to sneak out of her parents’ house to meet him for sex.
According to the Oregonian, Worley logged in and used the account from a Bureau of Land Management computer in Portland, where he worked. That computer was traced to Worley, who had a 1986 arrest in Alameda County, Calif., for disorderly conduct/prostitution, according to the affidavit.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A federal employee is accused of using work computers to send a 14-year-old girl obscene material and solicit sex.
Justice officials said Kyle Worley, 51, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on one count of online enticement of a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity and one count of transmitting obscene material to a minor.
Worley, of Vancouver, is a human resources manager at the Bureau of Land Management in downtown Portland, according to the Department of Justice.
The U.S. attorney’s office said federal agents took action after the girl’s stepfather discovered her online communications with Worley.

They contacted the Green River Task Force at the King County, Washington, Sheriff’s Office, and the bodies were eventually identified as those of Shirley Shirell and Denise Bush. The Green River case takes its name from a river south of Seattle where Ridgway began dumping his victims in 1982. Most of the women were prostitutes. Ridgway has said he targeted prostitutes “because I thought I could kill as many as I wanted without getting caught.” He said he killed because he hated prostitutes and didn’t want to pay them for sex, and claimed he killed so many women he had a hard time keeping them straight.

The skeletal remains were found in April 1985 in a wooded area near the Tualatin Country Club in suburban Washington County, one of four bodies discovered within a mile of each other that year.
Sheriff’s deputies said skeletal remains had been misplaced during the Green River investigation, but had been found and identified.
“We suspect he killed her.  He’s our #1 suspect,” said Washington County Sheriff’s Spokesperson Sgt. David Thompson.
Detectives are focusing on Ridgway because he admitted to killing Shirley Shirell and Denise Bush near Seattle, and dumping their bodies near Tualatin, Oregon.  Their remains were found less than a mile away from where Girdner’s remains were found, and next to the remains of Tammie Liles.
“He confessed to those two murder, thos two, and Tammie wer all missing persons out of Seattle, and all known prostitutes,” says Thompson.

The Portland Police recommended against approving a liquor license for the planned Mynt Gentleman’s Club on NE 33rd and Sandy.
The neighborhood association recommended against approving the liquor license.
And yet, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) staff report released today recommends approving the license for the controversial site.
The owners of Mynt originally planned to open a bar called Fat Jacks on the site of the old La Fortuna Mexican restaurant and bar. But (as I reported here) after neighbors protested that the bar would lead to violence and noise and the police noted the sketchy history of co-owner Tracy Doss’s other bar, Fusion nightclub downtown, the developers changed Fat Jacks bar to Mynt Gentleman’s Club.

In our side play we talked about the difficulty the Blazers have had adjusting to life without Greg Oden.  Before Oden’s injury (which we’ll refer to as ‘Before Oden’ or ‘B.O.’) the Blazers had become more of a halfcourt team to better leverage his growing impact on the defensive end.  After Oden’s injury (’After Oden’ or ‘A.O.’) they’ve quickly reverted to being an uptempo team to take advantage of their backcourt talent and depth.  This isn’t a transition that happens overnight, but after one game where they struggled with the change in style they’ve done fairly well with it at least in terms of point output.

Girdner disappeared in May 1983 when she was just 16. She was a straight-A student at St. Mary’s of the Valley Catholic High School in Beaverton. Her parents told detectives that she fell in with the wrong crowd and ran away to a life of drugs and, eventually, prostitution.

In 1998, the remains discovered with Girdner’s were identified as Tammie Liles, who was born in May 1967. Tammie was last seen in Seattle working as a prostitute in June 1983. Liles was eventually reported missing by her family in March 1988, which led to her identification through dental records.

Along with the remains of Tammie Liles, Girdner’s remains were found in close proximity to two other women Ridgway earlier this decade pleaded guilty to killing. Shirley Shirell and Denise Bush were found about a mile away in Bull Mountain in June of 1985.
Ridgway pleaded guilty to murdering 48 women, most in the Seattle area, and is serving 48 life sentences in Washington. Ridgway testified that he killed Shirell and Bush in Seattle and transferred them to Oregon. Ridgway has denied killing Liles or Girdner, Thompson said. He said police do not know whether Girdner was in the Seattle area prior to her death.
Girdner was a straight-A student until 1983 when her parents believe she “met the wrong people,” Thompson said. He said Girdner took a bus from Portland to school in Beaverton each day, and may have met people on the bus who led her to drugs and prostitution.
