Portland Strip Clubs: Heroic Stripper is Like the Cesar Chavez of Stripping

by exoticinportland

Now, lawsuits are all well and good, but real social change requires direct action. Brown V. Board was an important step in the Civil Rights Movement, but all the white folks just dragged their feet until people took to the streets. Mocha needs to form a powerful stripper union which will incite strippers all over the world to come together in a powerful, sexy proletariat to wrest the means of production—the pole, the stage, the fuzzy boa—from strip club owners, raising from the rubble, like some 55 year-old contractor’s reluctant hard-on, a new form of egalitarian strip club where lap dances are free and nobody fucking steals other girls’ leopard print 5-inch platforms in the dressing room while they’re out on the floor. (cf. the Lusty Lady, the world’s first worker-owned strip club.) Organize or die!

ID theft suspect arrested by mistake
The real Kimberly Fossen did NOT commit the crimes
Updated: Friday, 13 Nov 2009, 12:22 PM ESTPublished : Friday, 13 Nov 2009, 12:22 PM EST
(CNN) – “Kimberly Fossen” was arrested for burglary and larceny in connection with a case in New York. However, she was the victim of identity theft.
“This could happen to anybody,” said the real Kimberly Fossen.
Lien Huynh posed as Kimberly Fossen and, according to the real Fossen’s attorney, she has quite the rap sheet.
“She has warrants out for her arrest in Las Vegas for prostitution and in Florida for larceny,” said Samantha Dang, Fossen’s attorney.
She committed all those crimes, according to Dang, after stealing fossen’s identity.
We’ve kind of pieced it all together, and figure she’s a high end escort who moves around,” said Dang.

Portland Escorts: Wyden seeks bill to reduce Ore. sex trafficking

by escortingportland

Wyden seeks bill to reduce Ore. sex trafficking
Associated Press
November 12, 2009
PORTLAND, Ore. — Sen. Ron Wyden is proposing a new bill to boost protection for girls who become sex trafficking victims and tougher prosecution for the men who exploit them.
The Oregon Democrat was joined at a news conference Thursday afternoon in Portland by law enforcement leaders, including Multnomah County Commissioner Diane McKeel and District Attorney Michael Schrunk.
Wyden said sex trafficking amounts to slavery, and the new bill would fund social and legal services to help girls escape from pimps who prostitute them.
It will also provide housing, clothing, counseling and job training to prevent girls from returning to the streets.
The proposed legislation would target federal funds to states with the greatest need, including Oregon. Each pilot project would receive a grant of $2.5 million for victims and to expand sex trafficking investigations.

Portland Escorts: Nikki Haley accuses Gresham Barrett of political grandstanding with Gitmo letter

Nikki Haley accuses Gresham Barrett of political grandstanding with Gitmo letter

First you have Democrat Mullins McLeod telling Republican Gresham Barrett to take his letter to President Obama and stick it where the sun don’t shine (that’s what “shove it” means after all), and now you have Barrett’s fellow GOPer Nikki Haley giving the Upstate Congressman a pimp slap. All three are seeking their respective parties’ nominations in the South Carolina gubernatorial race.
And while Haley agreed to sign Barrett’s we-don’t-need-no-Gitmo-detainees-in-S.C. letter to the president — she doesn’t want those guys here either — she wasn’t entirely supportive of Gresham’s penmanship either. Here’s what Haley said:
However, calling on candidates for Governor to join you in a letter to President Obama, rather than asking your colleagues in Congress — who are actually in a position to prevent this potentially dangerous situation — to do the same, strikes me as little more than political grandstanding.

Portland Escorts: Dubai: Bling City is dead, but the desert dream lives on

by escortingportland

There were interviews with exploited Asian workers in filthy labour camps, hilarious encounters with Ukrainian prostitutes in Dubai nightclubs, and heart-rending accounts of jailed expats or sacked foreigners having to sleep in their 4×4s. For those of us living and working in the country, it almost seemed like they were writing about somewhere else.

Prostitution is rife, too, mainly women from the former Soviet countries or China, but fairly self-contained in well-known bars and districts. It depends on your attitude to prostitution, I guess. For many visitors, it adds a frisson to the city, and guarantees that the conference and exhibition trade continues to attract sybaritic high-rolling businessmen from the west. Along with the ready availability of alcohol, it means Dubai will always have a unique marketing advantage compared with Riyadh, or Doha, or even Abu Dhabi. It is maybe a bit worse than the red-light districts of any European or American city. I take the view that if you didn’t want, you wouldn’t go.

Portland Escorts: Dubai Babylon: The glitz, the glamour – and now the gloom

by escortingportland

With Western cash came Western cultural norms. Though foreign residents need a liquor licence to drink in their own homes, alcohol is widely available in hotel bars. All-you-can-drink brunches where expatriates got sloshed on champagne became the favoured way of passing Friday afternoons. While the Muslim community spent the holy day at the mosque, Westerners drank themselves legless.
It was at one of these infamous brunches that two Britons fell foul of the strict laws that govern the state. Michelle Palmer, 36, and Vince Acors, 34, who had met for the first time that day, were sentenced to three months in prison in July 2008 after being arrested for having sex on the beach. Not long after, British women Marnie Pearce and Sally Antia were jailed for adultery after their husbands told the police they were having affairs. Yet Arab men will drink openly in hotel bars and prostitution is rife.

Portland Strip Clubs: Tualatin Stars opens to deafening silence from protesters

by exoticinportland

Tualatin Stars opens to deafening silence from protesters
Much-contested strip club officially open fior business
By Ed Johnson
The Times, Nov 26, 2009
Jaime Valdez / Times Newspapers Stars Cabaret server Karli Hebisen,23, who was a pharmacy tech talks with a customer at the business’ new location in Tualatin.
In the hours before its grand opening on the night of Nov. 19, Stars Cabaret at Bridgeport was bustling with activity.
At least 20 workers were whittling away at various tasks that needed to be finished before the night’s big party. The club’s managers were expecting hundreds of people, and everything had to be just so. Tualatin’s second strip club was opening its doors.
A group of four men were installing what looked to be an intensive lighting system at one of the room’s three stages. A few more carefully applied Windex and elbow grease to a battery of mirrors mounted in the other corner. The place has a lot of mirrors.

Portland Strip Clubs: Women can bare it all in the Rose City

by exoticinportland

Portland women have the right to bare their breasts in public and still be in compliance with the law. It seems like equality is alive and well in the Rose City, and it is one of the few cities where it is not illegal for women to go topless in public.
Oregon’s indecent exposure law only prohibits nudity that is intended to cause arousal in public. Portland created its own ordinance to include exposed genitalia, but there is no law against women baring their breasts in public.
The right to bare one’s breasts publicly is about freedom of expression and equality. Just because a woman can go topless in public does not mean it is an act of sexuality. Not everything is about sex and that is something people forget, especially in a city that contains a multitude of strip clubs.

Portland Strip Clubs: Sound bites

by exoticinportland

Live music and tasty treats from the city that works

Perhaps the only thing Portland has more of per capita than food and strip clubs is musicians. Since it’s a lot easier to feature live music with dinner than naked women, it seems only natural that a marriage would emerge. Many restaurants have tried to expand into a music venue without proper consideration of the investments required to do it right. On the other hand, many music venues offer an enormous range of completely typical, anti-climactic bar food that forces patrons to leave feeling worse off than they came. After searching the city, this is a list of the most talked about places to eat and listen, each with their own unique appeal.

Portland Strip Clubs: Well known downtown Portland developer files for Chapter 11

by exoticinportland

November 23, 2009, 7:04PM
Fredrick D. Joe/The Oregonian
Developer John Beardsley, who’s owned downtown Portland real estate since the 1960s,  has put his company into Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Beardsley’s company, Fountain Village Development, owns enough historic properties to fill a skyscraper. But he sent the company into Chapter 11 to prevent the loss of one small storefront to foreclosure.
The old Jazz de Opus club at Northwest Second Avenue and Couch Street was headed for an auction Monday morning on the steps of the Multnomah County Courthouse. Beardsley halted the sale with the bankruptcy filing Friday.
“I can’t do that,” Beardsley said of losing the building, now rented by a strip club and a tattoo parlor. “I’ve got by far the most historic buildings downtown. I’m a steward, and I’m not surrendering that.
